Belle Keith's Quilt Top

Belle Keith's Quilt Top

I purchased the quilt top on eBay. The description said it was made by Belle Keith, of Versailles Missouri, who was in her nineties when she died in the 1950's and that she made the quilt in the 1930's or 1940's. The quilt top was sold by wayne6139. Belle was his step-father's grandmother. It is all hand pieced. I carefully washed it, trimmed the edges a bit to square it up and then added the outer border using plain muslin fabric. Some of the sashing pieces were worn through so I reinforced them with fusible interfacing. Pat Burnham quilted this for me. I have no idea if this is the appropriate way to handle a vintage quilt top, but I think it makes a great quilt.
